D-Pads & Daisies

Jay posted and alerted me to the fact that SEGA is making Sonic 4 in a 2D format.  AWESOME.  I’m glad the game makers took the hint from New Super Mario Bros. Wii and realized that we’re dorks for nostalgia ALREADY.

Although, the early 90s is almost 20 years ago at this point.  WOW.  I’m getting old and refuse to actually realize this sometimes.  I’ll be 26 next month and still feel like I’m 13 on occasion.  Weird, but I’m okay with it.

I “hearted” this image a week or whatever ago since I thought it was so amusing. Now EVERY TIME I hear Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” I picture this image and sing along saying BAD ROMANS.

Jayson alerted me to AXE COP today. HOLY CRAP.  Not only is the story of how it exists awesome (written by a 5-year old, drawn by a 29-year old), but the story itself is ridiculous and ridiculously good.

I’m obviously a tool for anything Mario always, but this made me laugh and it’s so true!

FoD Exclusive of the Day: Pee-wee Herman’s friend Steve Jobs gave him a free iPad to play with, and Pee-wee is pretty jazzed up about it. The rest of the Playhouse gang doesn’t really get what the big deal is, but soon come around once they see how useful it can be.

Also: Hooray for Pee-wee being back! Boo for unnecessary 20-year absence.

Every time I hear Michael Jackson's 'Beat It', I always ended up visualizing the Café 80's, where it's always morning in America, even in the afternoo-noo-oon.

The 20 Nerd Commandments

I just got this email from my pal Brian stating that this article reminded him of me while reading it.  After reading, I had to agree…I fit into more than a few commandments.

1. Star Wars, Mike
2. I appreciate the new Star Wars (mostly Episode III and the Clone Wars - both series) but still, nothing compares to the original trilogy.  Ever.
3. I’m probably not considered an extreme Nerd Girl, but I think I fall into the category.
4. First names are Serbian, so I have some pull on middle names.  I’ve already dropped some Star Wars related hints.  It’s fine.
6. DUH. There is no question.
8. This one is dead on. No kidding.
10. Lol and yes.
12. Sometimes I hate this one, but it’s true.
16. And also with you.
17. My brother and I are planning to go to Comic-Con at some point…
19. This is often true only because it’s common sense.
20. There’s a good chance I follow this, as I don’t have an extremely high percentage of anything that I don’t have all of.

Reservoir Dogs Tribute Poster
I bought the 12x18” print of this for the home that we don’t yet have.  It’s a bit expensive (I’m cheap/sorry, Pete!), but I really love it.  It’s one of those pieces I’ve come across that screams, “This belongs framed on your wall!” and I know every time I’d walk by it or look at it, I’d be happy it was there.

To all the people watching, I can never ever thank you enough for your kindness to me and I’ll think about it for the rest of my life. All I ask of you is one thing: please don’t be cynical. I hate cynicism. For the record, it’s my least favorite quality, and it doesn’t lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they would get, but if you work hard and you’re kind, I’m telling you, amazing things will happen.
